"Breath Deeper" is a song by the Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala. It was released on February 14, as the fifth single from the album The Slow Rush. It was released on the same day as the album. Kevin Parker wrote the song, and he also performed all the vocals and instruments on it by himself.

Background

NME critic Thomas Smith wrote that the song "flits between ravey pianos and '80s Fleetwood Mac". He also wrote that the final 90 seconds of the songs sounded a little reminiscent of Daft Punk's "Da Funk."

Reception

The Independent writer Elisa Bray commented on "Breath Deeper" positively, as she thought that Parker's "hazy yet soulful vocals" drifts blissfully against the beats and glossy piano in the song.

Max Freedman of The A.V. Club had mixed feelings on the song, writing that it "opens with a guitar shuffle that would feel at home me amid the rapturous bursts that defined Lonerism, but even when vigorous acid-house pianos emerge during the refrain, the song never blossoms the way we've come to expect from Parker's best productions".
